Some people may choose to only track calories versus tracking calories plus the other macronutrients (carbohydrates, fats and protein). If this applies to you can log your calories by selecting the 'Quick Log Calories' option instead of searching for a food item by name or barcode. To access this feature click on the "plus" icon, select food and then tap on "Quick Log Calories".

Macronutrients are defined as nutrients that serve as a primary source of energy. These are generally eaten in large quantities hence the prefix 'Macro' and they are essential for normal growth, metabolism and other bodily functions. You may have noticed that each of the primary macronutrients is listed on the nutritional labels of most foods.
