In 2016, stress accounted for 45% of all work days lost to absenteeism. A simple way to bring a pause to stress and anxiety and actually improve our mental state in the moment is mindful breathing, which aims to calm the breath and slow the rate of the breathing pattern, ultimately reducing stress.


Go to "Daily Dairy", scroll down and tap on "Mindful Breathing". Tap and hold on the yellow button and follow the animation breathing in as the circle expands and breathing out as it shrinks. Your daily goal is to log 5 minutes of mindful breathing (more or less 30 breaths) a day.


Entering this simple routine can help decrease anxiety and depression, improve sleep, lower blood pressure, increase energy, improve memory and concentration, strengthen the immune system and create the conditions for more empathy and compassion.
